“Green County’s Gold” DVDs Now Available!

We’re very excited to offer the Monroe Public Library’s very first DVD, Green County’s Gold. We’ve taken this vintage public domain film and made it available to you on DVD for the first time.

What is Green County’s Gold?  It’s a 1951 22-minute short film showcasing the farming, Swiss heritage, and cheesemaking.  You’ll also see footage from 1950′s Cheese Days and Green County Fair.  You may just spot people or even a farm that you know!

The profits from your purchase of this DVD will help the Monroe Public Library play a more active role in preserving our community’s heritage.

You can purchase the DVD for $10 by visiting the library’s circulation desk.

If you’re a retailer interested in carrying Green County’s Gold for sale, please contact the library.
