The Purpose of the Friends
The purpose of the Friends of the Monroe Public Library is to promote and improve library services, materials and facilities for the Monroe community; to raise funds for immediate and long range library projects; to stimulate gifts and bequests to the library; to provide volunteer support in strengthening the library programs; and to encourage the broadest possible use of its facilities, materials, and services.

The Friends of the Monroe Public Library Board meet on the third Monday of the month (except December) at 9 a.m. in the Library. The scheduled meeting dates in 2008 are as follows:

- No meeting in December
