The Purpose of the Friends

The purpose of the Friends of the Monroe Public Library is to promote and improve library services, materials and facilities for the Monroe community; to raise funds for immediate and long range library projects; to stimulate gifts and bequests to the library; to provide volunteer support in strengthening the library programs; and to encourage the broadest possible use of its facilities, materials, and services.

The Monroe Public Library Friends group welcomes new members! Membership forms and information about the Friends of the Monroe Public Library are available at the Library Circulation and Reference/Information Desks.

Library Board Representative:  Eunice Brennan

The Friends of the Monroe Public Library Board meet on the third Monday of the month (except December) at 9 a.m. in the Library.  The scheduled meeting dates in 2008 are as follows:

        • January 21 (postponed to January 28 at 9:30 a.m.)

        • March 17
        • April 21
        • May 19
        • June 16
        • July 21
        • August 18
        • September 15
        • October 20
        • November 17
        • No meeting in December
