Bathrooms

The bathrooms on the first and second floors have not been refurbished since this building opened as the library in 1996, nearly 25 years ago, and they are no longer up to ADA regulations.  They are dingy, with poor ventilation. The lower level bathrooms are in great disrepair, and have not been updated since the 1960s.

As a part of our lobby and as an undeniable community resource, the first floor bathrooms should reflect the same welcoming experience as the rest of the library.

IMPACT
  • Visitors and tourists will leave our building having had a good experience, reflecting well on Monroe’s Historic Square.
  • Everyone, regardless of ability, will have an improved experience with this daily necessity.
