About the Board of trustees
The Monroe Public Library Board of Trustees is a citizen volunteer board which is part of the School District of Monroe governing structure. The nine citizens who serve as Board of Trustees members are appointed by the Board of Education. Library Trustees serve three-year terms. No member shall serve more than three full terms consecutively.
The Board works as a team to protect and advance the interests of the broader community by effective governing the operations and promoting the development of the Monroe Public Library. The Monroe Public Library Board of Trustees meets on the fourth Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm in the library's second floor meeting room. Meetings are open to the public.
