May 2, 2022 The library will open on Monday, March 21, based on previous decisions by the Library Board of Trustees. The Board has decided to open without a mask requirement, based on their review of CDC recommendations.

The Library Board of Trustees may amend the library’s COVID operation levels at their next meeting. December 2, 2021 The Library Board of Trustees has determined that Curbside services will be suspended when county COVID-19 disease activity reaches the CRITICALLY HIGH level. Monroe Public Library will not provide Curbside services starting Monday, November 29. Curbside will resume when the level returns to VERY HIGH.

November 17, 2021 The Library Board of Trustees has tasked the Director with developing a protocol for offering limited in-person appointments for browsing and computer use. The Board will meet via Zoom in approximately two weeks to review the protocol, determine criteria for offering these appointments, and to further discuss criteria for reopening the building.
October 28, 2021 The Library Board of Trustees has determined that the library building should close when county COVID-19 disease activity reaches the VERY HIGH level. Monroe Public Library will close on Friday, September 3 at 6:00 PM, and remain closed until further notice. Curbside Services will begin on Tuesday, with hours to be announced.

May 13, 2021 The Monroe Public Library Board of Trustees revised the Policy on Public Health Emergencies to include the following benchmark for making the library building available for public entry: the building may open when COVID-19 case activity level for Green County reaches MEDIUM as determined by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services.

August 1, 2020 The Monroe Public Library is pleased to open the building to the public with modified hours. As of July 1, our hours of operation are Monday & Tuesday, 10 AM to 5 PM, and Wednesday & Thursday, 12 noon to 7 PM. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Masks are required on Mondays, and strongly encouraged on other days.
June 27, 2020 The Monroe Public Library is pleased to begin offering curbside pickup and and reference service by chat and phone effective Tuesday, May 26th. As part of the School District of Monroe, the library building will remain closed until further notice.
