The library will return to regular operating hours (12 PM - 6 PM) on Fridays, starting May 6.

The library will open on Monday, March 21, based on previous decisions by the Library Board of Trustees. The Board has decided to open without a mask requirement, based on their review of CDC recommendations.

Based on previous decisions of the Library Board of Trustees, if COVID levels hold, the library will open on Monday, March 21.

March 5, 2022

Based on the previous decision of the Board of Trustees, Monroe Public Library will provide both Curbside service and in-library service by appointment beginning March 7.

 The Board reviewed the protocols from the November meeting and revised them.

The current plan will see us through Critically High and Very High. Additional decisions will be made at the January Board meeting.

January 10, 2022

Curbside service will resume at 9:00 on Monday, December 6, with strict safety protocols.

The Library Board of Trustees may amend the library’s COVID operation levels at their next meeting.

​December 2, 2021

The Library Board of Trustees has determined that Curbside services will be suspended when county COVID-19 disease activity reaches the CRITICALLY HIGH level. Monroe Public Library will not provide Curbside services starting Monday, November 29. Curbside will resume when the level returns to VERY HIGH.

At last night's meeting, the Library Board of Trustees determined the library's operation level for each COVID activity level moving forward:

​November 17, 2021

The Library Board of Trustees has tasked the Director with developing a protocol for offering limited in-person appointments for browsing and computer use. The Board will meet via Zoom in approximately two weeks to review the protocol, determine criteria for offering these appointments, and to further discuss criteria for reopening the building.

October 28, 2021

The Library Board of Trustees has determined that the library building should close when county COVID-19 disease activity reaches the VERY HIGH level. Monroe Public Library will close on Friday, September 3 at 6:00 PM, and remain closed until further notice. Curbside Services will begin on Tuesday, with hours to be announced.

September 02, 2021

The Monroe Public Library Board of Trustees has set the following guidelines for library services.
When COVID-19 case activity level for Green County is at:
 
MEDIUM
  • Masks are required on Mondays
  • Masks and social distancing are encouraged
HIGH
  • Masks are required on Mondays
  • Masks and social distancing are strongly encouraged
  • 35 person capacity
VERY HIGH
  • Library building closed
  • Curbside Services available

Case activity level is determined weekly by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services.

The Monroe Public Library will open to the public on Monday, May 24.

May 13, 2021

The Monroe Public Library Board of Trustees revised the Policy on Public Health Emergencies to include the following benchmark for making the library building available for public entry: the building may open when COVID-19 case activity level for Green County reaches MEDIUM as determined by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. 

February 25, 2021

The Monroe Public Library building will be closed from 7:00 PM on Thursday, November 12, due to increased coronavirus activity in our community. Curbside and Reference services will be available during the closure. ​

​November 12, 2020

The Monroe Public Library will reopen to the public on Monday, November 2. Hours and guidelines established in the June 27 update will resume, except that masks are required at all times.

October 30, 2020

The Monroe Public Library building will be closed from 7:00 PM on Thursday, October 15, at least through November 1, due to increased coronavirus activity in our community. Curbside and Reference services will be available during the closure.

​As of August 1, masks are required at all times, as a School District of Monroe facility and by Governor Evers' Executive Order #82 & Emergency Order #1.

The Monroe Public Library is pleased to open the building to the public with modified hours. As of July 1, our hours of operation are Monday & Tuesday, 10 AM to 5 PM, and Wednesday & Thursday, 12 noon to 7 PM. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Masks are required on Mondays, and strongly encouraged on other days.

June 27, 2020

The Monroe Public Library is pleased to begin offering curbside pickup and and reference service by chat and phone effective Tuesday, May 26th. As part of the School District of Monroe, the library building will remain closed until further notice.

​May 21, 2020

The Monroe Public Library’s Board of Trustees and the library administration have determined that curbside service is not feasible at this time.  The factors considered include:

  • Health risks to patrons and staff
  • Continued systemwide materials delivery suspension
  • Complete closure of all School District of Monroe facilities
  • Preservation of PPE for healthcare workers and essential services​

​The Board of Trustees and library administration are monitoring the situation and working toward restarting services as the crisis allows.
